Coby MP705-8GB MP3 Review

Ipods are expensive, there's no doubt of that. Many of us who just want to listen to

music and watch the occasional video feel it's a waste of money and thus search for "simpler" MP3 players. A relatively popular one is the coby MP705, in this case, the 8GB version. It's inexpensive, compact and even has a touchpad (so you don't have to worry about your buttons getting stuck).

Coby MP705

The Good

  • Inexpensive (~60$).
  • Lots of storage
  • Compact.
  • Has a touchpad.
  • Comes with surprisingly good earphones.
  • Integrated rechargeable battery.
  • Overall sleek look.

The Bad

  • Loose power button hinders the otherwise very beautiful appearance of the apparel.
  • Lack of a scrollwheel makes it very hard to navigate long lists of items.
  • Easy to scratch.
  • Poor battery life.
  • Tendency to lock up.

Summary

This is a good device for those seeking a good, simple music player. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more expensive MP3s, nor their durability. Yet, if your budget is slim, and your needs are small, then this is an acceptable MP3 for you. Our only real complaints where that if you don't organize your media properly, it will take ages to scroll down lists of files, since there is no scrollwheel and the player's tendecy to lock up unexpetedly is really annoying.
